Artist Profile: Kelly R Hawkins
Initially, Kelly Renae Hawkins was an internet-friend, later a model, then a photostudent, and today is one of my most loved friends and valued photography colleagues. I am making this post to show my appreciation of her, her artistry, and her accomplishments.
Kelly recently graduation from the Randolph Photography Program, one of the most well-respected photoschools in the Southeast if-not the country, with a degree in Commercial Photography. While attending RCC she also cared for animals working part time as a vet assistant. After graduation, she was accepted into the Savannah College of Art and Design, but instead, chose to stay local. Today, she works as a freelance photographer/photoassistant and a part time shop assistant to acclaimed body-modification artist, Bryan Wood.
Kelly is true to her principles in both her personal and professional life. She is a hard worker, a creative artist, compassionate soul, and an unrelenting friend. Her work shows grit, style, heart, and a level of honesty most commercial and portrait photographers can never hope to attain. Kelly has a bright future in photography, and would be an asset to any studio, agency, ad-firm, or cooperative smart enough to take her on.
Here is a sampling of her recent photography:
Her work can also be seen on her website: Kellyrhawkins.com and her Flickr stream: Flickr.com/kellyrenaephoto.
All photos in this post aside from the title image are copyright to Kelly Renae Hawkins 2009-2010.
