Huemaxx is now Film Foto Forever

Huemax, the High Point, NC analog/mechanical camera seller and service center, has re-branded itself as "Film Foto Forever."

They are still the same mecca for central North Carolina film photographers, and continue to be owned and operated by Ken Toda. But are now taking steps towards classes, workshops, darkroom, and studio services.

I have gotten a lot of good advice and done a lot of business with these guys over the years and am very happy to see them continuing to do what they do.

Greensboro Roller Derby 2012 calander

Five photographers, including myself, worked with the Greensboro Roller Derby, volunteers, and sponsors to put together this year's fundraising calendar.

The 2012 calendar is titled "Village of the Jammed." And as the title might suggest, is horror movie themed. I was one of the first photographers to commit to the project. So, I managed to call 'dibs' on a few classic movies that would look great photographed in black and white on traditional film: Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Dracula (1931), and Psycho (1960).

Calendars were sold at roller derby events and a few local sponsors, and may be purchased directly by contacting Greensboro Roller Derby Fundraising.

Through the month of September and early October, the Greensboro Center for Visual Artist gallery exhibited "Art: Unauthorized," a collection of graffiti and alt-art that I was lucky enough to have a few traditional b&w photography prints in.

For October's "First Friday", the gallery curator, Kristy Thomas, invited the exhibiting artists to do a series of art demonstrations. Melissa Stanley put together an alt-fashion photo shoot with Myself along with fellow photographers John Ryan, Evan, and John Read. Melissa, Kelly Keodara, and Theresa Ortiz modeled. Kyle Britt and Brie Reeder volunteered their services as Hair and makeup stylists. And Bob Smithy with At The Ritz Costume Rental provided wardrobe.
